Who are my heroes? My kids for sure!!
My baby Amanda is just like me. She is tenacious and unbridled. Amanda is that wild stallion that must learn to be patient and love, and let love come to her. Amanda has an intelligence surpassed by few her age and even many adults. She has such life in her and the determination to live it to its fullest. I want so badly to protect her from ever difficulty that life brings, but that would be wrong. I believe that Amanda, like me, must travel her own road and make her own path. I know Amanda will be truly happy when she discovers that she must follow the right path for her and she must own it. I have complete faith that she will find her own way in this world and when she does, people will move aside.
My daughter Nessa is an amazing person. She is focused and determined. Despite everything, even when Nessa seems to be beaten, she gets back up and keeps on going.. She has the balance and the beauty of a true lady, and always has, even as a small child. I have met a great many people and she is by far the most perfect person Ive ever met. Nessa is loving, calm, diligent, and funny! I was told something once by someone very important to me, something that has come to pass. Nessa is that person she predicted. She is like looking at a beautiful deer 4 feet away from you. You want to touch this beautiful deer, but you know if you do it will be gone, yet you still feel contentment and ease by its presence. Of course when the deer runs off, you will be sad because it will live the rest of its life without you. Your reward is that you were graced by its presence and you come away a better person for just sharing those few elegant moments in its company. I am truly graced to be her mother.
My son, my first born was truly a gift of life for me. My son, Ryan, literally saved my life. Had it not been for this baby boy that I suddenly found myself with, I would have surely died. It was my love for my son and his complete trust in me that kept me going through some of the worst and loneliest times in my life. Even as a child, Ryan had a heart of gold and now im sure he will make someone the greatest father and husband someday, for his heart is the size of the world. Throughout his travels I believe he has learned the best lesson of them all, never to take anything or anyone for granted, and in doing so has gained the one true gift that most people on this planet dont have anymore, and that is humility.
I believe when all is said and done they will be my greatest accomplishments and my gift to the future. I can only hope that my teachings will inspire my children to change the world, instead of the world changing them, like it has done to so many of us.
